Verna R. Ford | Principal
FORD CONSULTING & COACHING, LLC.
Verna Ford is an organizational strategist specializing in team effectiveness, management communications, and talent development. Her trouble-shooting capabilities and her straight-talk about difficult topics undergird her reputation as an effective business analyst, problem-solver, diversity and inclusion consultant, and executive coach.
Verna says, “My greatest asset as a consultant and coach is understanding what it takes to be successful inside the workplace. I know because I’ve held jobs at every level — from clerk/typist to president and COO. As a student of employee motivation and organizational behavior, I understand how clashes and synergies tend to happen — between levels, across functions, among diverse people, during boom and bust business cycles.”
Verna is a skilled creator and facilitator of management education curricula. She works effectively with for profit and not-for-profit organizations and across a variety of industries.
HOW DOES A CONSULTATIVE RELATIONSHIP WITH FC&C WORK?
1
We begin with a complimentary meeting designed to understand your objectives and to discuss FC&C’s service options.
2
A Letter of Engagement describing the agreed upon path forward (service deliverables, timeline, key constituents, fees, etc.) is then prepared and approved.
3
Together, we conduct an honest assessment of the current state in comparison to the desired state, establishing interim goals and identifying organizational strengths and barriers now in place.
4
Then the exciting work of strategy planning and implementation begins—engaging a cross-section of stakeholders, leveraging their knowledge and talents, removing obstacles, putting reliable systems, processes and accountabilities in place, measuring results along the way.
HOW DOES A COACHING RELATIONSHIP WITH FC&C WORK?
1
We begin with a complimentary 30-minute introductory call designed to understand your needs and to discuss the best coaching style and approach for you.
3
In our second meeting, we establish specific goals for coaching and further shape expectations for how we will work together, how others should be involved, etc.
2
A Letter of Engagement describing the terms of the coaching relationship (meeting frequency, duration of the agreement, fees, etc.) is prepared and approved.
4
Client and coach calibrate regularly on progress against goals. The coaching relationship begins and ends whenever you say so, under the terms of our agreement.
